Herrin- Mildred I. Dutchie Freeman, 99, of Herrin, passed away at 5:35 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Herrin Hospital.
Mildred was born on March 30, 1910 in Cedar Grove to Asbury Larkin & Mary (Downs) Sanders. She married Amos Freeman on April 5, 1937 in Salem, IL. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1990.
She was a beautician in Herrin for 30 years and retired in 1980. Mildred was a member of Herrin First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and playing the organ, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Caregiver- Gayla Beaver of Herrin
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters- Edna Ralls, Pauline Sanders & Jewell Singelton and brothers- Troey & Leo Sanders.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Michael Ebert will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service, Tuesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
