Marion- MILDRED IRENE BAKER, age 83, of Marion, passed away at 12:30pm on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion. Mildred was born in Pittsburg, IL on November 26, 1922 to Joseph L. and Pearl (Ramsey) Baker. Ms. Baker attended the Second Baptist Church in Marion whenever she could. She loved her family and helped her mother when she was able. Survivors include a sister- Vivian Baker of Marion; a sister and brother-in-law- Jean and Paul Richison of West Frankfort; two aunts- Wanda Ramsey of Mt Vernon and Helen Prause of Port Richey, FL; two nieces- Paula Ball and Carolyn and Elmer Vachata; one nephew- Ronald Richison; four great nephews- Lukas Ball, Joshua Ball, Justin Richison, and David Vachata; two great nieces- Danae Vachata and Jeanelle Ball; cousins- Virginia and Murvin McCord, Jerry and Elaine Ramsey, Shirley Nemeth, Lea June and Don Sneed, Amy and Sarah Sneed, Keith Ramsey. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, two aunts- Lillian Craggs and Esther Edmison; two uncles- Woodrow Ramsey and Herman Holmes. Also preceding her in death was her very special grandmother, Sarah Ramsey, who had lived with her and was a great inspiration in her life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Dr. Bob Wagner and Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
