Mildred L. King, 84, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 7:35 A.M. at Herrin Hospital.
Mildred was born September 1, 1927 in Creal Springs the daughter of Oscar and Fredith (Parks) Henson. She married LaVern King on June 8, 1945 in Marion and together they shared over 54 years of marriage until his death on April 12, 2000.
She was a homemaker. Mildred was a member of Marions First Church of God and she was a former member of the Eastern Star.
Mildred loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded by her Parents, Husband, Grandson Brad Dawes, Sister Rosie Wilkins, Brother Raymond Wilkins, Four brother-in-laws Lee Maddox, Leon King, Ray Atnip, Tom Rench, Three sister-in-laws Wanda Mae Atnip, Iretta Wilkins and Joan Wilkins.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Tibbs and Rick Parks officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Clearlake Township, Springfield, Illinois.
