Mildred M. Davis

HERRIN- Mildred M. Davis, age 86, of Herrin, passed away on Sunday January 8, 2006 at her residence in Herrin. Mildred was born November 14, 1919 in Anna, IL to George and Bessie Mae (Jenkins) Griffin. She married William Kenneth Davis on July 4, 1960 in Anna, IL. He preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Christian Church in Herrin. Survivors include- Daughter and son-in-law- Wallis Ann (Glodich) and George Shirey- Shippenville, PA Grandson- Geordann Shirey- Shippenville, PA She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday January 14, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with the Rev. Ron Henwood officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9- 11am on Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations may be made to the victims of Hurricane Katrina or a church of the donor's choice.
