Minnie Moffe

Herrin- Minnie Moffe, age 87, of Herrin, passed away at 5:55am on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Herrin Hospital. Minnie was born on June 2, 1922 in Weaver, IL the daughter of Tony and Carotta Enrico. She married William Moe Moffe in Herrin on October 5, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2008. Mrs. Moffe was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was retired from Smolers Brothers. Survivors include her nephew- Eugene Piantanida of Herrin, IL Close friend like a sister- Lela Poteete of Herrin, IL She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister and brother-in-law- Katie and Markie Piantanida. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Pramote and his staff as well as Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held at11:00 am on Friday, August 14, 2009 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Friday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to San Carlo Cemetery Association.
