Mr. John Curtin

Herrin- John Curtin, 54, of Herrin, passed away at 10:10 AM, Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. John was born on May 22, 1959 in Chicago to Francis and Alberta Curtin. He was catholic.  John was a good looking, happy man who loved all of life’s adventures and he touched the hearts of many.  John’s smile and laughter could light up the room. He enjoyed drinking coffee (and even a beer on special occasions) with his buddies.   Some of his favorite things to do were reclining in his chair watching his favorite shows, including: “Wipeout”, “Cops”, western movies and game shows. He loved picnics, baseball games, concerts and music.  John will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his friends and the caring staff of “Our Directions”. He was preceded in death by his parents and friend- Leroy Raines. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 23, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev. Don Colson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Friday at the funeral home.
