Mrs. Anne Laura Otey

Herrin- Anne Laura Otey, 81, of Herrin, passed away at 8:43 AM, Monday, April 21, 2014 at Helia Healthcare of Energy. Anne was born on August 3, 1932 in Herrin, the daughter of Gaetano "Guy" and Anna (Loiacomo) Pecoraro.  She married Ronald Dale Otey on January 8, 1955 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin.  She enjoyed family dinners on Sunday afternoon and dancing at the Marion Eagles every Sunday night. Survivors include- Daughter- Gayla Tope and husband David of Herrin Two Grandchildren: Melissa Tope and fiancé Larry Lueth of Energy Emily Shirley and husband Ryan of Las Vegas, NV Great grandson- Leo Williams of Energy Good friend- Marie Tope of Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate.  Burial will follow at SanCarloCemetery in Herrin.  Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
