Mrs. Athleen Lingle

Johnston City – Athleen Lingle, 95, of Johnston City passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 7:15 am at her home. Athleen was born August 22, 1918 in Johnson County the daughter of Harvey and Lona (Stokes) Hudgens.  She married Aaron “Bill” Lingle on January 5, 1935 and together they shared over 43 years of marriage until his death on December 21, 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship General Baptist Church. Survivors include her; Daughter - Donna Gray of Johnston City Daughter – Carolyn Thomsen of Johnston City Son – Bill Lingle and wife Kathy of Houston, Texas Eight Grandchildren Ten Great Grandchildren Four Great Great Grandchildren Two sisters; Flodene Uhls of Wisconsin Ruth Nations of Marion Brother – Carl Hudgens of Marion Preceded by her Parents, Husband, Son – Daryl Lingle, Brother – Leon Hudgens, Sisters – Vivian Escue, Delores Henderson, Geneva Hudgens, Mildred Lindsey Funeral services will be Monday, June 23, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Gerald Lingle officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 1 pm – 5 pm at the funeral home.
