Herrin- Myron Edward Ed Goeppinger, 82, of Herrin, formerly of Stephenville, TX, passed away at 12:26 AM, Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Herrin Hospital.
Ed was born on January 15, 1925 in Brookfield, OH to William F. & Francis (Adams) Goeppinger. He married Dorcas Giesecke on June 2, 1948 in Stephenville, TX. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2005.
Mr. Goeppinger served his country bravely during WWII & the Korean War while enlisted in the United States Navy. Once honorably discharged, he worked 36 years as a lease operator for Conoco in Ardmore, OK until his retirement in 1985.
Ed was a member and former Elder of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time in his flower garden when he was able. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister- Florence Sargent.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 20, 2007 at Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville, TX. John & Gary will eulogize their father. Burial will follow at Duffau Cemetery in Stephenville, TX. Military rites will be performed at graveside. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM, Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Stephenville Funeral Home. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin has been entrusted with local arrangements.
