Myrtle L. McCarty

HERRIN- Myrtle L. McCarty, age 76, of Herrin, passed away at 9:40am on Tuesday March 28, 2006 at her residence in Herrin. Myrtle was born December 13, 1929 in Herrin to Sam and Rose Saliba. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Methodist Church in Herrin. Survivors include- Special Friend and life partner- Robert McCree- Christopher, IL Daughter- Pamela McAnelly- Costa Rica 3 grandchildren- Joshua McAnelly- Springfield, IL Cory & Leslie Tolka Saliba McCarty- Carterville, IL 2 great grandchildren- Alli and Darian Tolka Sister- Sammy Sellars- Herrin, IL Brother and Sister-In-Law- Tammer and Pauline Saliba- Bedford, IN Sister and Brother-In-Law- Vickie & Sam Harris of Nashville, TN. Several cousins, nieces and nephews Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, one son- Gary McCarty, two brothers- Mike and George Saliba and three sisters- Zine Cornwell, Flossie Saliba, and Fairy Booth. A memorial service for Mrs. McCarty will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Ralph Brandon and Rev. Ralph A. Totten officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the First Methodist Church of Herrin or the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
