Myrtle Mae Weimann, age 96, of Herrin, passed away at 12:00pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Myrtle was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on March 5, 1911, the daughter of Daniel and Martha (Jordan) Beers. She married Frank P. Weimann on March 12, 1927 in Benton, IL. Together they shared 68 years of marriage, until his passing on June 26, 1995. Mrs. Weimann was a retired checker for National A&P Stores in Chicago. She served nine years as the head cook for SIU Thompson Point and Grinnell Hall. Myrtle was a member of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and the Homemaker's Extension in Wolf Creek, IL. Survivors include: Daughter and Son-In-Law- Betty Lyles Dann and husband Billy of Carbondale, IL Foster Daughter- Mary Lou Sawyer of Sauk Village, IL 3 Grandchildren and spouses- Carol & Jim Barshack of Webster, WI Larry & Julia Lyles- Elk Grove, IL Pattie & Joe Maeser- Herrin, IL 15 great grandchildren 3 great great grandchildren Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband,5 brothers- Fred, Ervie, Danny, Ivan, and Earl Beers, 2 infant brothers, 3 step-brothers- Albert, Fred and Herman Huth, and step-sister- Margaret Curl. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Friday, April 27, 2007 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
