Nancy K. Young

Nancy K. Young, age 77, of Carterville, passed away at 3:20am on Sunday, February 14, 2021 in Herrin Hospital after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy was born in Spring Valley, Illinois on January 16, 1944, the daughter of Edward and Francis (Piascyk) Kelish. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a factory laborer. She was of Catholic faith and had attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin.

Nancy loved life up North but after moving to Southern Illinois seven years ago, was quickly comforted to call it home. She left an impact on many lives and the many friendships made was something she deeply treasured.

Survivors include-

Son- Mike and Debbi Young of Marion, Iowa

Daughter- Lynette and Doug McFadden of Marion, IL

Son- Jack and Ana Young of Herrin

Grandchildren- Samantha Young, Trevor Young, Jacob Pierce, Chase Pierce,

     Madalynn McFadden, David Young, Lia Young, Andres Manzano, & Mariana Manzano

Brothers- Bill and Rick Kelish

Sisters- Carol and Bill Greathouse

     Randa and Dave Walters

She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

A time of visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Following, family and friends are asked to join the family for food and fellowship in a celebration of life at the Annex in Herrin from 1-3pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
