Nancy Sue Smith

Marion- NANCY SUE (DWYER) SMITH, age 74, of Marion, formerly of Tolono, joyfully joined her husband, Ralph Smith, in Heaven at 9:35am on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Nancy was born in Marion on October 14, 1938, the daughter of Arthur and Sybil (Nicholson) Dwyer. She married Ralph E. Smith in Marion on October 4, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1997. Nancy lived her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law- Jack and Julie Smith of Schaumburg; three grandchildren- Kyle, Kolin, and Kelsey Smith all of Schaumburg; three sisters-in-law- Eva Wiseman, Carmen Francouer, and Dorothy Smith; nephews- Ed (Yolanda) Dwyer and Jim Dwyer; nieces- Laurie Dwyer and Kelly (John) Baker; many great nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband- Ralph Smith, her parents, two brothers- Jack and Jim Dwyer, and her nephew- Jeff Dwyer. As per her wishes, Nancy will be cremated. There will be a private family memorial service held to celebrate Nancys life with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Inurnment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with memorial arrangements. The family kindly requests no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
