Naomi G. Emery

Herrin- NAOMI G. EMERY, age 84, of Herrin, departed this life at 12:05am on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Herrin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Harvey C. Emery and her son, Larry G. Emery, were anxiously awaiting her arrival in Heaven. Naomi was born in Herrin on October 2, 1923, the daughter of David and Rose (Ridings) Graham. She married Harvey C. Emery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on September 20, 1940. They shared fifty years of marriage, until his passing on March 3, 1991. Naomi will be sadly missed by all of her family, including her son- Harvey G. Emery and wife Karen of Herrin, IL her daughter- LaVonna K. Johnson and husband Jim of Carterville, IL Five Grandchildren- Mark Emery of Herrin, IL Leia Castoldi of Energy, IL Michelle Castoldi of Marion, IL Christopher Emery of Valier, IL Lisa Wirtes and husband Jake of Marion, IL Seven Great Grandchildren- Jeffrey Allen, Cory Alan, Christopher Michel, Morgan Brooke, Devon Patrick, Madison Mae, and Elijah Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Harvey; her son- Larry; three brothers-Havis, Kenneth, and Raymond; two sisters- Ruth and Juanita. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Naomis grandson, Christopher Emery, will officiate services. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, October 19, 2007 at the funeral home.
