Nita Jean Baldwin

Herrin- Nita Jean Baldwin, 64, of Herrin, passed away at 5:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2012 at her home in Herrin. Nita was born on February 22, 1948 in DuQuoin to Frank and Pauline (Shurtz) Giacomo. She married Vernon Dale Baldwin on December 21, 1968 at her familys home in Pinckneyville. She was a homemaker in her own home and an active member of the Christian Life Center in Herrin having served on the Benevolence Team. She was an outgoing and caring person who could be both a good listener and give good advice. She valued her time with her children and grandchildren and was a good cook who was often requested to cook one of her wonderful desserts. Survivors include- Her loving husband- Dale Baldwin of Herrin Son- Bart Baldwin and wife Stephanie of Marion Son- Monte Baldwin and wife Amanda of Marion Son- Luke Baldwin of Herrin Grandchildren- Logan and Vincent Baldwin of Marion Sister- Sue Wilcox and husband Jack of Herrin Brother- Jack Giacomo and wife Judith of Towson, MD Four nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Christian Life Center in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson and Rev. Brent Fitzgerald will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Monday at the Christian Life Center in Herrin. Funeral arrangements were handled by Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
