Norma L. Bowen

Herrin- Norma L. Bowen, 63, of Herrin, passed away at 1:27 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2007 at her home in Herrin. Norma was born on October 15, 1943 in Whiteash to Lester & Ester (Odle) Dodd. She married Stephen P. Bowen on June 8, 1974 in West Frankfort. He survives of Herrin. Mrs. Bowen was a homemaker and of protestant faith. She enjoyed her grandchildren and cooking meals for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed sitting on her deck and taking in the sights and sounds of her neighborhood. Survivors include- Husband- Stephen P. Bowen of Herrin Son & daughter in law- Stephen G. & Lora Bowen of Herrin Daughter & son in law- Carol & Kevin Porritt of Herrin Son- Darrell Robertson of Herrin Daughter & son in law- Mechelle Renee & Jeff Rogers of Salem Daughter & son in law- Michelle & Gary Cullum of Herrin Grandson- Joshua A. Hammers of Herrin currently stationed in the USAF Eight other grandchildren Brother & sister in law- Mike & Edna Dodd of Hurst Brother & sister in law- Wesley & Patricia Dodd of Paxton, IL Sister & brother in law- Dorothy & Larry Isaacs of Thompsonville Many nieces & nephews Beloved dog- Sammo She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Scott A. Bowen, three brothers and one sister and brother in law- Jeanette & William Devine. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
