Obie Darr "Dude" Frizzell

Herrin- OBIE DARR "DUDE" FRIZZELL, age 91, of Herrin, passed away at 6:45pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at his daughter's home in Hamilton, Alabama. Obie was born on January 11, 1916 in Herrin, the son of William Obie Darr and Mariah Elizabeth (Lane) Frizzell. He married Ruth Juanita Oliver on March 13, 1937 in Mount Vernon, IL and together they shared 58 years of marriage, until her passing on June 9, 1995. Dude loved his award winning beagle dogs. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Survivors include- Two daughters- Pamela & George McKamy of St. Louis, MO Ruth (Shaffer) and Bill Cason of Hamilton, AL Five grandchildren- Chet & Debrah Shaffer of Thompsonville, IL Larry & Charlotte Capps of Chicago, IL Sheila (Capps) and Lester Gray of Collinsville, IL Melinda (Capps) and Dustin Pendall- Collinsville, IL Holly (Capps) Bonfanti of St Louis, MO 16 great grandchildren 3 great great grandchildren and one on the way, which is expected on February 28, 2007. Obie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife- Ruth, and a granddaughter- Lynetta Shaffer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
