Oceia Hope Miller

Oceia Hope Miller, age 84, of Energy, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021 at her residence at the Villas of Holly Brook.

Oceia was born on October 21, 1936, in Bell Haven, NC, the daughter of Carlie and Thelma (Davis) Gordon. She married Robert A. “Bob” Miller in Peoria on September 25, 1960. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2012.

Prior to her retirement, Oceia had worked as a seamstress.

Son- Gregory and Anita Miller of Augusta, KS

Son- Brian Miller and wife Kim of rural Carbondale

Five grandchildren-

     Bryce Miller of Wichita, KS

     Amanda Fulton of Dallas, TX

     Aaron Miller of Wichita, KS

     Andrew Miller of St. Louis

     Sarah Miller of rural Carbondale

One great granddaughter on the way

Brother- Mitchell and Jo Gordon of Creve Coeur

Brother- Jack and Peggy Gordon of California

Several nieces, nephews and cousins

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Michael Henson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 PM on Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
