Patricia Patty Margaret Sheffler, 52, of Marion, passed away at 1:25 A. M., Friday, November 7, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends after a short battle with cancer. Patty was born on February 25, 1956 in Marion to Robert & Helen (Hussey) Drury. She married Andrew Sheffler on February 9, 1980 in Marion. Patty worked for K-Mart Corporation for 25 years, she was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean with her husband and friends to scuba dive and collect traditional ethnic masks. She made many friends at Crab Orchard Refuge Campground where she and Andy spent the summers boating and enjoying nature. She enjoyed entertaining and could throw together a memorable party at a moments notice. Her loving and generous spirit as well as her contagious laugh will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Savannah. Survivors include- Husband- Andrew Sheffler of Marion Son- Christopher Sheffler of Hurst Grandchild- Savannah Sheffler of Marion Sister & brother in law- Roberta & Woody Drury- Young of Kilm, MS Sister in law- Sarah Buehrer & husband Mark of Fenton, MO Brother in law- Bruce Sheffler of West Frankfort Brother in law- Richard Sheffler & wife Marie of Wood Bury, MN Brother in law- Charles Sheffler & wife Jill of Wood Bury, MN Brother in law- Tim Sheffler & wife Pat of Seattle, WA She was preceded in death by her parents. A ceremony celebrating the life of Patricia Sheffler will be held at 8:00 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. A time of gathering will begin at 5:00 PM Saturday and continue until time of service at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
