Paul Allen Cronin, 57, of Troy, Illinois formerly of Herrin, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 7:34 P.M. in Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. Paul was born March 05, 1946 to Edward and Gladys (Neber) Cronin in Herrin. He married Doris Tino on March 28, 1974 in Las Vegas and she survives in Troy. Paul was a 1968 graduate of SIU, received his masters degree from Pepperdine University. Paul was a Captain in the Air Force, C141 Pilot, Vietnam veteran and flew active combat campaigns in Vietnam and POWs out of Vietnam at the end of his military career. He was a manager for Southern Illinois Motor Express. He was a loving husband, best friend to his son and wonderful brother. Survivors include Son Jeff E. Cronin and fiance Erin Countryman of St. Louis Two (2) Sisters Edwina Kent of Marion Juliann & John Huber of Marseilles, Illinois Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Clyde & Aletha Tino of Cookeville, TN Sister-in-law - Brenda C. Dixon of Greeneville, TN Brother-in-law - Phillip Tino of Nashville, TN Sister-in-law - Phyllis Jolly of Sparta, TN Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law - Jimmy & Shine Tino of Cookeville, TN Preceded by - Parents Memorial services will be, Saturday February 21, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. in Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Ward officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites performed by the American Legion and V.F.W. Post of Herrin. Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Fund.
