Colp- PAUL EDWARD FINNEY, age 87, of Colp, passed away at 8:15pm on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Herrin Hospital.
Paul was born in Williamson County on February 23, 1925, the son of Rev. Henry and Susie Finney. He was united in marriage to Dolores Jean Bourland on January 6, 1946 in Morganfield, KY. They shared fifty-six years of marriage, until her passing on April 1, 2002. To this union, three children were born.
Mr. Finney served in the United State Army from March 30, 1943 until December 20, 1945. He received three Bronze Battle Stars and a Purple Heart. Paul was retired from Olin.

Two grandchildren- Derek and Stephanie Finney of Cambria, IL
Garyn Finney of Carterville, IL
Three Great Grandchildren- Kara Billingsley of Herrin, IL
Gabriel Finney of Cambria, IL
Zoey Finney of Cambria, IL
Sister-in-law and brother-in-law- Marilyn and Frank Engram of Herrin, IL
Many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, infant son- Michael Paul Finney and daughter- Paula Jean Finney, sisters- Reathel Watkins, Maudie Bullington, Claudia Finney, Ruie Finney, and Lois Finney; brothers- Charles, Clifton, Elmer, Leonard, and Alfred Finney.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military honors provided by Herrin Military Ceremonial Team comprised of Freeman Spur American Legion, Herrin American Legion, and Herrin VFW Post. Assistance will be provided by the National Guard Flag Honor Detail. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Wednesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
