E. Pauline Hernbeck, 93, of Marion passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 3:57 P.M. at Herrin Hospital. Pauline was born September 12, 1918 in Energy the daughter of George E. and Rosa L. (Childers) Hindman. She married William L. Hernbeck on February 29, 1936 in Herrin and together they shared over 54 years of marriage. They resided for 30 years in Harvey, Illinois before moving to Marion. William preceded her in death on March 2, 1990. Her working career included 17 years at Perfection American Gear Company and J.C. Penny in Harvey, Illinois. Pauline was a member of the Marion Second Baptist Church, Golden Agers and Golden Agers Choir. She was the Past Patron of Celestia Chapter of Harvey, Past Matron of Anna Chapter #499, Herrin Order of Eastern Star and Dorcas Shrine of Herrin. Survivors include; Daughter Shirley Thomas of Toledo, Ohio Grandson Steven Thomas and wife Lisa of Toledo, Ohio Grandson Ronald Thomas and wife Christine of Toledo, Ohio Three Great Grandchildren; Jeremy Thomas Shelbey Ann Thomas Mackenzy Thomas Great Great Granddaughter Emma Thomas-Clark Several nieces and nephews that she loved Preceded by her Parents, Husband, Son-in-law Harold Thomas, Brother Leoran Hindman. Funeral services will be Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in North Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
