Herrin- Pauline Pike, 84, of Herrin, passed away at 7:46 PM, on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital. Pauline was born in Herrin on October 22, 1929, the daughter of Herman E. and Millie E. (Reiger) Smith. She married Charles J. Pike in Morganfield, KY in 1947. He survives in Slidell, LA. Mrs. Pike was a member of the First Baptist Church in Herrin and the Agape Sunday School Class. She was a member of the William County Senior Citizens and the Herrin American Legion Auxiliary.  In her spare time she enjoyed all sports, reading, yard work and travelling.  She particularly was proud of the Herrin Tigers Athletic Programs. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law- Louis Scott and Judie Pike of Carbondale Son- Keith Allen Pike of Herrin Grandson- Cody Pike of Carbondale Granddaughter- Jamie Goggin Pike of Carbondale Great Grandson- Gavin Stevens of St. Louis Sister- Margaret Norman of Carterville Many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother- Charles R. Smith, twin brother-Paul Smith, and two sisters- Florine Plantz and Maxine Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.   Rev. Paul Tirey will officiate.  Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
