Herrin- PAULINE BERNICE STONE, age 96, of Herrin, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center in Paducah. Pauline was born in Herrin on November 17, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Antoinette (Gualdoni) Calcaterra. She married Orval Stone in Herrin on June 9, 1937. They shared thirty-four years of marriage. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1971. Mrs. Stone was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was the owner and operator of Stones Beauty Salon in Herrin for many years. Survivors include- Two daughters- Paula and Bob Danby of Paducah, KY Janet and Steve Boaz of Paducah, KY Two grandsons- Robert Danby of Paducah, KY Matthew and Laura Danby of Paducah, KY Great Granddaughter- Leah Danby of Paducah, KY Sister- Mary Hartwell of Herrin, IL Two nephews- Bill and Terry Hartwell of St Louis, MO Rob and Sheila Hartwell of St Louis, MO Great Nieces and Nephews- Taylor and Christian Hartwell of St Louis, MO Audra Hartwell of St Louis, MO Melissa and Lucus Kadar of Florida Hanna Hartwell of St Louis,MO Leanne Archione of Springfield, IL Scott Archione of Springfield, IL Kim Archione of West Frankfort, IL Cousins- John Stone of Marion, IL Debra Stone of Marion, IL Ray Stone of Marion, IL Sister-in-law- Frances Calcaterra of Herrin, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Orval, four brothers- Joseph, Charles, Robert, and William Calcaterra, and two sisters- Lena Archione and Rosetta Calcaterra. A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 10-11am on Tuesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with arrangements. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, The American Heart Association, or the American Lung Association.
