Herrin- Pearl M. Blaylock, 90, of Herrin, passed away at 3:30 PM, Friday, March 18, 2005 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.
Pearl was born on July 30, 1914 in Hurst to Lorenzo Dal & Ella (Whitecotten) Hogg. She married Otis Edward Blaylock on March 3, 1934 in Colp. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1963.
Mrs. Blaylock worked as an inspector and clipper at Smoler Brothers in Herrin for eighteen years prior to her retirement.
Pearl was a longtime member of Hope Chapel Methodist Church in Colp. She was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the Herrin Senior Citizens. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much as well as going out to eat on Friday nights with her girlfriends. She has forever been enshrined on the Burger Nook wall of fame in Herrin

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Roger Blaylock, daughter; Sandra J. Hunt, three sisters and six brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastors Alan Milligan & Todd Hawk will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 PM, Monday, March 21, 20005 at the funeral Home in Herrin.
