Peggy Faye Doughty, 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1 am surrounded by her family. Peggy was born May 10, 1937 in Corinth the daughter of James Edward and Jenny (Cash) Currey.  She married Jimmie L. Doughty on November 8, 1952 in Johnston City and together they shared over 46 years of marriage until his death on December 2, 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church of Crab Orchard. Survivors include her; Three sons; Danny Doughty and wife Patti of Benton Dennis Doughty and spouse Dr. Gil Costas of Houston, Texas Brad Doughty of Crab Orchard Three grandchildren; Todd Doughty of New York City Courtney Poole and husband Greg of Benton Bryce Doughty of Benton Her best friend – her dog Lizza Jane Sister-in-law – Elaine Doughty of Evansville, Indiana Several nieces and nephews Preceded by her Parents, Husband – Jimmie L. Doughty, Brother – Tracy Currey, Four Sisters – Gertrude Shorter, Anna Bea McCarthy, Velma Gharrett, and Patsy Currey. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Sullins officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant – Poordo Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant-Poordo Cemetery.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
