Marion- Perry L. “P.L.” Montgomery, age 90, of Marion, passed away at 3:12pm on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Herrin Hospital.
Perry was born in Williamson County on March 11, 1928, the son of H.D. and Inez (Albright) Montgomery. He married Betty McGee in Osceola, Arkansas on November 2, 1946. She survives in Marion.
Mr. Montgomery was a retired minister, serving at several Baptist churches located in Union and Clear Creek associations.
Survivors include son- Garry and Marylen Montgomery of Pittsburg
Son- Gorden and Shirley Montgomery of Goreville

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers- Ross, Raymond, Glenn, H.D., and John Montgomery, and one sister- Helena Robinson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin McNeely will officiate. Burial will follow at McKinney Chapel Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 10:30am-12:30pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family final arrangements.
