Marion Phillip C. Turner, 70, died Friday, August 20, 2004 at 11:00pm at Walker Baptist Regional Hospital in Jasper, Alabama. He was born December 22, 1933 in Golden Pond, Kentucky to Claude & Audrey Turner. He was retired Correctional Officer from the Marion Federal Penitentiary. He was a veteran of Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post #177, VFW Post #1567 of Zeigler, Marine Corp. League, Zeigler Eagles, Illinois Sheriffs Association and the Illinois Police Association. He was of the catholic faith. Survivors Include: Daughter & Son-In-Law: Kim & Russell Moore of Marion Three Step Daughters: Tina & Thomas Dean of Benton Patti Wyant of Zeigler and Cathy Mason of Valier Nine Grandchildren: Racheal Bernadoni of Marion Sara Jo Moore of Marion Brandy Williams of Herrin Troy Russell of Pittsburg Raven Dean of Benton Ashley Barron of Benton Laura Barron of Benton Aaron Wyant of Benton David Clark- Valier Two Brothers: Bill Turner of Jasper, AL. Hale Turner of Taylor, MI. One Sister: Mary Good of Lincoln Park, MI. He was preceded in death by his step son, Troy Russell. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 24, 2004 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post #1301 of Marion at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
