Phyllis Ann Rath

October 19, 1940 — March 18, 2018

Marion- Phyllis Ann Rath, 77, of Marion, passed away at 10:30 AM, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Phyllis was born on October 19, 1940 in Johnson County to Robert and Dorothy Moake. Phyllis owned several businesses including “The Southern Café”, “The Hideaway Lounge” and “Just One More” for several years. She was a member of the Elks ladies Auxiliary and the Marion First Church of God.  She enjoyed traveling whenever possible and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include- Son- Robert Rath and wife Lori of Creal Springs Daughter- Cheryl Hastings and husband Brian of Sesser Son- Kevin Rath of Creal Springs Daughter- Lisa Richey of St. Louis Eight grandchildren Eight Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson- Tyler Rath and brother- James Moake. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 23. 2018 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor Roy Pepmiller will officiate.  Inurnment will follow at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home/ 800 N. Market St/ Marion, IL 62959.
