Colp-Phyllis Jeannean Staton-74 died 1:00 Monday, July 19, 2004 at her residence.
She was born February 25, 1930 in Colp to John & Kathleen (Melroy) Bell. She married Robert Staton on February 14, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas. He survives.
Jeannean was retired from Herrin Maytag in 1996 after 50 years of factory work. She began her career with Sangamon Company in the 1940s. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Jeanneanss quiet and modest presence will be missed by her family and friends. Because of her humility and desire to always remain anonymous, her lifelong generosity & giving spirit to others will never fully be known, but because of her, many otherwise unfortunate people and animals were made more comfortable.
Whether it was a gift turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, a prom dress for a teen, or a free spay/neuter for a pet, she was always behind the scenes providing for others.
