Ralph L. Fox

Marion- RALPH L. FOX, age 83, of Marion, passed away at 6:45am on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at his daughters home in Marion. Ralph was born in Dykersburg, IL on April 12, 1924, the son of Mood and Grace (Wymann) Fox. He married Leina Hill on July 9, 1950 in Pochahontis, Arkansas. They shared fifty-three years of marriage, until her death on December 18, 2003. Mr. Fox retired from housekeeping at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, after many years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and World War II. Survivors include: Son- Jack Fox of Marion, IL Son and Daughter-In-Law- Rick and Ruth Fox of Marion, IL Daughter- Patty Parks of Marion, IL Five Grandchildren- Johnny and Lena Fox of New Burnside, IL Cortney Fox of Marion, IL Dustin and Brooke Copher of Marion, IL Cody Fox of Marion, IL Whitney Parks of Marion, IL Three Great Grandchildren- Stetson, Preston and Ashton Fox of New Burnside, IL Two Step Grandchildren- David Berry of Edwardsville, IL Dan and Rebecca Berry of Newburg, IN Step Great-Grandchild- Brody Berry of Newburg, IN Sister- Doris Beasley of Poordo, IL Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his wife-Leina, and his brother- Sylvester. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 24, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Ivan Ryan and Rev. Tim Osment officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Poordo with military honors performed by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and the National Guard Unit. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Monday, December 24, 2007 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
