Ray H. Johnson

Marion- Ray H. Johnson, 80, of Marion, passed away at 5:20 PM, Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Helia Healthcare Center in Energy. Ray was born on December 30, 1928 in Tunnel Hill, IL to Louie & Ethel Mae (Simmons) Johnson. He married Elizabeth Ann Boner on July 16, 1942 in Morganfield, KY. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1996. Ray retired from Holcim Cement Co. in Portland, CO. Survivors include- Daughter- Rita Harlan & husband Butch of Streator, IL Daughter- Brenda Meredith & husband John of Ancona, IL Daughter- Lonnie Ainsworth & husband Don of Elko, NV Daughter- Renae Hopkins & husband Steve of Marion Ten Grandchildren Twenty Great Grandchildren Two Great Great Grandchildren Sister- Maye Bell Lyerla of Peoria, IL He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers- Edward & Ernest Johnson. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, May 1, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral home in Marion. Rev. Shorty Alsip will officiate. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
