Raymond Kelley, 68, of Marion passed away on Monday, February 07, 2011 at 1:15 P.M., surrounded by his family, at St. Louis University Hospital. Raymond was born September 5, 1942 in Marion the son of Harold Alexander & Etta Mae (McMillian) Kelley. He married Lorine Louise Shadowens on January 18, 1964 in Marion and together they shared over 30 years of marriage until her death on June 3, 1994. He retired in 2004 after 38 years with Maytag. He was member of the New Dennison Baptist Church and Local 554 IAM. Raymond was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. His greatest pleasures were spending time with his grandchildren and riding his 4 wheeler. After his wife Lorine passed away he even overcame the dangers of the kitchen, he enjoyed barbequing and cooking the familys turkey on Thanksgiving. Survivors include; Three daughters; Patricia Oakley and husband Donald of Marion Judy Kelley of Marion Debbie Roberts of Herrin 15 Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren Brother Guy Kelley of Herrin Three sisters; Lily Craig and husband Mike of Goreville Nina Graul and husband Kenneth of Marion Roberta Goodman and husband Charles of Marion Sister-in-law Shirley Gresham of Marion Three Brother-in-laws; Ray Shadowens of Marion Leon Shadowens of Marion BoJo Shadowens of Marion Preceded by his Parents, Wife, Grandparents Raymond & Nina Irene McMillian, Brother Harold Kelley, Sister Terrill Ann Kelley and Brother-in-law Eugene Shadowens. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 1 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Bud Sork officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
