Reatha Maxine Steinmetz

Herrin- REATHA MAXINE STEINMETZ, age 90, of Herrin, passed away at 1:05am on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Reatha was born in Ferges on September 12, 1920, the daughter of Cairl Jake and Edna (McPheron) Smith. She married John L. Steinmetz in Herrin. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Steinmetz was a practical nurse at Herrin Hospital. Survivors include three grandchildren- Randall Lee Steinmetz Sr. and fianc Jodi Payne Lisa (Steinmetz) Moore and husband Kevin Shane Steinmetz and wife Liberty Three great grandchildren- Randy Steinmetz Jr. Christina (Steinmetz) Troutt and husband Jonathan Coltan Steinmetz Four Great Great Grandchildren- Alexandra and Haley Steinmetz, Kylie Fox, and Joceyln Troutt She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- John L. Steinmetz, two sons- Don and John Louis Steinmetz, daughter- Phyllis (Steinmetz) Clements, Grandson- John David Hartcoff, brother- John Cairl Smith, sister- Eva Mae Smith Rorer, daughter-in-law- Rose (Yelencich) Steinmetz, and son-in-law- Chuck Clements. Graveside services will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-3pm on Tuesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral in Herrin. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
