Herrin- Reba Mae Wear, 95, of Herrin, passed away at 5:25 AM, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Reba was born on May 9, 1911 in Denning Township to W. R & Katherine (Lipsey) Freeman. She married William Benjamin Wear on March 22, 1947 in Murphysboro. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1995. Mrs. Wear was a homemaker and a member of Freewill Baptist Church in West Frankfort. SURVIVORS: Stepson- William B. Benny Wear & wife Bille- Tilton, IL Stepson- Floyd Wear & wife Mary- Tilton, IL Stepdaughter- Doris Vanvekoeven & husband- George- Cayuga, IN Stepson- William A. Wear & wife Janet- Tilton, IL Seven grandchildren Seventeen great grandchildren Five great great grandchildren Niece- Thelma Harvey Great Nephew- David Freeman & wife Betty- Zeigler Great Nephew- Bill Freeman- Zeigler Several other nieces & nephews Close friend and caregiver- Debbie Bird- Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters; Pam Parsons & Fairy Triplett, two brothers; Paul & Amos Freeman, brother in law- James Thomas Triplett, and one nephew- Paul Freeman, Jr. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Dr. Randall Carney will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Saturday, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
