Reid Thomas Feldkirchner

Reid Thomas Feldkirchner, 51, died suddenly on October 27, 2017 in Energy, IL where he had lived for many years. Reid was born October 5, 1966 at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital, Chicago, to Harlan L. and Mary Ann Burdick Feldkirchner. Reid was born with physical and cognitive challenges, along with a great personality and caring heart. He was accepting and courageous and had an excellent sense of humor. He touched many lives during his childhood, much of it spent at Goldie B. Floberg Center in Rockton, and later in southern Illinois where he lived and worked as an adult. In his youth, he participated in the Special Olympics, and he always enjoyed outings. Throughout his life, spending time with people was what he liked most, especially when it involved joking and good-natured banter. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Larson of Springfield; brother, Drew (Jennifer) Feldkirchner and his niece, Meadow. Reid was preceded in death by his brother, Ross Feldkirchner; father, Harlan Feldkirchner; and grandparents, Florence and Alvin Eichelberger. Those who knew Reid are invited to an informal gathering to celebrate his life on November 8 from 2-4 PM at Helia Healthcare of Energy. Reid’s family would like to thank everyone who took the time to get to know Reid over the years, especially staff at Helia Healthcare and Centerstone of Illinois. Many of you had a positive impact on his life, and for that we will be forever grateful.
