Rena Surgalski Teague

Herrin - Rena Teague, 92, died at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL. Mrs. Teague was born July 1, 1910 in Wainwright, Ohio to Joe and Maria (Guimenti) Salina. She first married Alex Surgalski. He died in 1966. She then married Charles L. Teague who died January 3, 1987. She retired from the Energy Food Center. She also worked for many years at Smoler Brothers in Herrin. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was a past member of the Daughters of Isabella and a volunteer for many years with the Herrin Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include; Sister in law - Mary Salina Fox - Herrin Sister in law - Edith Surgalski Coffel - Marion Niece and husband - Angela Salina Restivo and Paul - Marion, IL Nephew - John Marty Salina - Benton, IL Niece and husband - Pat Surgalski Kapsalis and Tom - Chicago, IL Niece and husband- Karen Surgalski Canty and Ed - California Great Nephew - Bryan Salina - Benton, IL Great Nephew - Kevin Restivo - Marion Great Niece - Salina Restivo - Marion Her parents, husbands and one brother, John Bruno Salina preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2002 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Msg. Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will be at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Memorials may be made to San Carlo Cemetery or the OLMC Renovation Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
