Hurst- Richard "Luke" Holland, Sr., 69, of Hurst, passed away at 9:45 AM, Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at his wifes home in Cambria.
Richard was born on December 6, 1936 in Bush to John Sam & Mattie L. (Whitacker) Holland. He married Annette Hammontree on August 4, 1955 in Williamson County. She survives of Cambria.
Mr. Holland formerly worked at Coppers-Tie Plant. He was of Pentecost Faith.
He was a member of the Herrin American Legion. When he was able he enjoyed bass fishing at Bush Lake and Hogging for catfish with his bare hands. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his dog Little Bit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers their spouses; James & Edith Holland, Henry Peck & Anne Holland, Oathur Boob Holland, Edward Holland, and Charles Carligo & Ruby Holland, and two sisters; Irma & Bud Thompson and Mildred Midge Inchcliff. Two infant sisters also preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Friday, March 10, 2006 at the funeral home.
