Rita Beaty

Herrin- RITA BEATY, age 73, of Herrin, passed away at 11:15am on Monday, August 18, 2008 at her residence in Herrin. Rita was born in Augsburg, Germany on May 31, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Maria Schmidt. She was retired from the Herrin Senior Citizens and the Carbondale Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. Rita was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include- Two Daughters- Doris and Delbert Bandy of DeSoto, IL Carmen and Orlando Falcon of Chicago, IL Five Grandchildren- Dale Bundy of St Louis, MO Amber and Wes Shirley of DeSoto, IL Marine Cpl Kris Bandy stationed in Iraq Orlandia Falcon of Chicago, IL Orlando Falcon Jr. of Las Vegas, NV Three Great Grandchildren- Delaney Bandy Tarah Shirley and Braeden Shirley Two Sisters- Elizabeth and John Cox of Colorado Springs, CO Ida Goggley of Aagsburg, Germany One Nephew- Eric Cox of Atlanta, GA She was preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband- Elmer Beaty. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 22, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at DeSoto Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
