Robert A. Jones

Royalton- ROBERT A JONES, age 69, of Royalton, passed away at 6:40pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at his home in Royalton. Robert was born in Brocton, IL, on October 23, 1942, the son of Kenneth and Ruby (Conley) Jones. He married Connie Cox in Danville on May 24, 1986. She survives. Mr. Jones was a member of the Royalton Apostolic Church and the United Auto Workers. He retired from General Motors where he worked as a grinder. He was a United States Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife- Connie Jones of Royalton Two sons- Wesley Jones of Sidell, IL James and Debbie Jones of Clearwater, FL Two step-sons- Richard Kiger of Royalton, IL Greg and Michelle Kiger of Royalton, IL Seven Grandchildren Two brothers- Earl and Carol Jones of Paris, IL William and Polly Jones of Dow, IL Three sisters- Marcella and John Coy of Chrisman, IL Judith and Bill Weddle of Royalton, IL Shirley and Rick Brauninger of West Frankfort, IL He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Christy Jones, three sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Donald Maas officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military honors provided by Herrins VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the United States National Guard. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
