Robert Blumenstock

Crab Orchard - Robert E. Blumenstock, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 4:35 A.M. at Angel Acres. Robert was born April 12, 1925 in Marion the son of William & Minnie (Parsons) Blumenstock. He married Betty Loudene Byrn on March 31, 1947 in Marion and together they have shared over 62 years of marriage. He was a member of Ferrell Baptist Church and was a carpenter. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. In addition to his wife he is survived by: Daughter Jane Ellen Wallis and husband James of Mendota, Illinois Grandchildren: Scott Leppert of North Pole, Alaska Traci Manion and husband David of Mendota, Illinois Steven Leppert and wife Andrea of North Aurora, Illinois Great Grandchildren; Jordan, Ryan & Allyson Manion of Mendota, Illinois Katelynne & Kamryn Leppert of North Aurora, Illinois Great Great Grandson- Parker Manion Brother Albert Blumenstock and wife Arvilla of Benton, Kentucky Sisters; Muriel Ferguson of Spillertown Audrey Ramsey of Elgin, Illinois Several nieces and nephews Preceded by his Parents, Son Kenneth Dale Blumenstock, Infant Sister Ruth Blumenstock, Brothers Charles Blumenstock and John Ray Blumenstock. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Kenny Blumenstock and Pastor David Manion officiating. Burial will follow at Ferrell Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
