Robert C. Fox

Robert C. Fox, 90, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 9:00 P.M. at the VA Medical Center. Robert was born July 25, 1918 in Harco, Illinois the son of Bert & Minnie Mae (Hicks) Fox. He married Veta Fowler on June 10, 1942 in Marion and together they have shared over 66 years of marriage. He was a WWII veteran proudly serving in the Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles. He retired from the Marion Park District where he had worked for over 26 years and he also had worked as an over the road truck driver. Robert was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his wife he is survived by; Three Sons: Robert L. Fox and wife Nancy of Robinson, Illinois Allen Ray Fox and wife Betty of Marion Ronald D. Fox and wife Diana of Chatham, Illinois Two Grandchildren; Kevin Fox and wife Linda of Key West, Florida Ronda Craft and husband Allen of Carterville Two Great Grandchildren; Hannah & Lydia Craft of Carterville Preceded by his Parents, Four Brothers and Three Sisters. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Bloodworth officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Military Honors Team. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
