City- Robert Don Clark, 74, of Johnston City, passed away at 4:25pm on Thursday, January 12, 2005 at Herrin Hospital. Robert was born on May 29, 1931 in Herrin, IL to Lester and Julia (Long) Clark. He married Alma Jean Cochrane on February 16, 1990 in Paducah, KY. She survives in Johnston City. Robert was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marion. He retired from the US Air Force after serving for twenty years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Diagraph Bradley for ten years prior to his retirement. Survivors include- Wife- Alma Jean Clark- Johnston City, IL 4 daughters- Donna and Paul Wilbur- Palm Bay, FL Connie and Perry Sweat- Crystal River, FL Karen & Linwood Pearce- Port St. Lucie, FL Lisa Cloud- Homestead, FL Step Son- Donald Lyell & wife Jackie- Marion Step Son- Dale Lyell- Johnston City Step Son- Jeffrey Lyell- Johnston City Ten Grandchildren Three Great- Grandchildren Sister- Doris Kranzelak- Palos Heights Sister- Shirley Brasher & husband Leon- Herrin Sister- Judy Riley & husband Mike- Carterville Sister- Cheryl Huston & husband Phil- Carterville Sister in law- Linda Clark- Carterville Uncle- Marion Cook & Joanne Long- Lake of Egypt Aunt- Mary Miller- Herrin Aunt- Betsy Long- Herrin Aunt- Marcella Long- Herrin Aunt- Norma Long- Herrin He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Charles Bockie Clark, uncles; Leon Long and Elbert Ebbie Long, and one brother in law; George Kranzelak. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marion. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Military rites will be performed by the Marion VFW & American Legion Posts. Inurnment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City at a late date. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
