Robert L. Howell

HERRIN- Robert Leigh Howell, age 67, of Herrin, passed away at 7:50pm on Tuesday February 14, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Robert was born on September 27, 1938 in Marion, IL to Joe and Helen (Vinson) Howell. He married Constance D. Rash on August 14, 1959 in Marion. She survives in Herrin. Mr. Howell was an army veteran and a member of the Iron Workers Local Union #782 out of Paducah, KY. Survivors include- Loving Wife- Connie (Rash) Howell- Herrin, IL 4 daughters and son-in-laws- Kimberly & Joe Costello- Lady Lake, FL Christine & Dale Yates- Herrin, IL Delores & Matthew Spellman- Olathe, KS Laura & Eddie Robles- Virginia Beach, VA 1 son and daughter-in-law- Brett & Susan Howell- Charleroi, PA 15 grandchildren- Sal, Michael, and Rocky Costello Amanda Yates Erica & Gregory Wikel Katelynn & Kristyn Moreno Nicole, Tiffany Jo, Brandon, Bryanne, and Courtney Howell Emily, Justin, & Jared Robles 1 great granddaughter- Maria Costello 2 brothers- Joel Howell Jr and wife Kay- Tyler, TX Jerald Gene Howell and wife Judy- Carterville, IL 2 sister-in-laws- Carolyn Brown- Marion, IL Sue Tanner and husband Tom- Herrin, IL Several nieces and nephews Robert was preceded in death by his parents. As per Roberts wishes, his body will be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is handling the arrangements.
