Robert E. "Curly" Logsdon

Robert E. "Curly" Logsdon, age 78, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Robert was born June 26, 1944 in Herrin, Illinois, a son of James and Maxine (Edwards) Logsdon. Curly grew up in Crab Orchard, IL and graduated Crab Orchard High School in 1962. He married Rosemarie Voss on November 08, 1963 in West Frankfort, IL. She passed away May 20, 2022. Curly worked at Norge in Herrin for several years and then worked as a roof- bolter at Old Ben #24 until the mine closed. He then worked at P&S Grain in Marion until his retirement. Curly enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing (NASCAR), working on antique cars, watching Westerns on TV and having breakfast with his friends a local restaurants. He loved his dog Duke, and fishing and spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by two children, Elizabeth A. (Samuel) Kelly of High Point, NC and Robert E. "Bobby" (Mike) Logsdon Jr. of Byrnes Mill, MO; three grandchildren, Ryan P. Kelly, Garrett M. Kelly, and Jordan S. Kelly; and three siblings, James W. "Jim" Logsdon of Marion, IL, Nancy Jacobson, and Sherry Logsdon of Stonefort, IL. He is preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie Logsdon; his parents, James and Maxine Logsdon; and two siblings, Joan Logsdon and Rick Logsdon.

Visitation will be Friday, August 5th, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be follow Friday, August 5, 2022, 11:00 AM at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Shed Cemetery in Crab Orchard.
