Robert F. Vanstone, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 5:50 P.M. at his home in Tunnel Hill.
Robert was born October 5, 1932 in Chicago the son of Frank and Renee (Kujawa) Vanstone. He married Carol Kassman on November 18, 1978 in Chicago and together they have shared over 34 years of marriage.
He was an Army veteran and a member of the Vienna VFW. Robert retired as a Foreman from Peoples Gas Company in Chicago.
Survivors include his: Wife – Carol Vanstone of Tunnel Hill Daughter – Debra Summer of Arab, Alabama Son – Christopher Vanstone and wife Sharon of Arab, Alabama Son – Steven Vanstone of Huntsville, Alabama Step-Son – Robert Karl of Schaumburg, Illinois Step-Daughter – Christine Nirshel and husband Karl of Tucson, Arizona Step-Daughter – Mary Shaner and husband Randall of Marana, Arizona Step-Daughter – Elizabeth King and husband David of Willimantic, Connecticut Step-Son – Joe Karl and wife Shelly of Boring, Oregon 21 Grandchildren Eight Great Grandchildren Sister – Renette McKenna of Chicago Several Nieces and Nephews
Preceded by his Parents, Sister – Camill Kroll and Step-Son – Michael Karl.
It was Mr. Vanstone’s wish to be cremated. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
