Herrin- Robert W. Wink Winkler, 78, of Herrin, died at 1:50 PM, Thanksgiving Day, in the presence of his loved ones, at Herrin Hospital.
Mr. Winkler was born on September 12, 1925 in Macon, MO to Marion & Eula (Vestal) Winkler. He married Shirley M. Boyt on October 18, 1947 in Herrin. They were married fifty-six years.
Robert was a WWII Navy Veteran. He worked as a plumber/pipe fitter for local #551 in West Frankfort prior to his retirement. Before that he was owner operator of Winker Plumbing in Herrin. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his kids and great grandkids. He was a family man and enjoyed woodworking and his pet dogs. Robert was of Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; Michael J. & Robbie R. Winkler, one sister; Ethelyn Dugger, son in law; Bill Miller, and family dogs; Johnny & Buffy.
As per the families wishes, his body was cremated, and private family services will be held at a later date.
