Roberta Chloe Dungey

Marion- ROBERTA CHLOE DUNGEY, age 91, of Marion, passed away at 11:45pm on Friday, October 30, 2009 at her home. Roberta was born in Marion on June 18, 1918, the daughter of Robert and Lydia (Nichelson) Deaton. She married Lonnie J.C. Dungey in Piggott, Arkansas on May 5, 1951. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1975. Mrs. Dungey was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion. Before retiring, Roberta was a self-employed beautician. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law- Patricia and Randy Parker of Marion, IL One granddaughter- Kerri and T.J. Allgaier of Creal Springs, IL Three great grandchildren- Gavin Parker, Brayden Parker, and Carly Allgaier of Creal Springs, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson- J.T. Parker, three sisters, seven brothers, ten sister-in-laws, nine brother-in-laws, and twelve nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-2pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
