Roberta Lee (Bert) Morgan

Roberta Lee (Bert) Morgan, 83, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 4:00 A.M. at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home. Roberta was born October 16, 1924 in Marion the daughter of Lloyd Allen & Grace (Baker) Lewis. She married Virgil Lester Morgan on August 27, 1941 in Jackson, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1981. Bert was a member of Marions Second Baptist Church, American Legion and Marion Eagles. She retired from Walts Pizza after working there for over 12 years. She is survived by: Three Sons: Lester Morgan and wife Carol of Marion Bob Morgan and wife Adele of Shelbyville Virgil L. Morgan and wife Kay of Marion Daughter Crystal Morgan of Marion Son-in-law Steve Nicholson Thirteen Grandchildren: Shauna Morgan Kim Morgan Susanne Morgan-Morrow and Miriam Karen Morgan Mike Cox Lonnie Morgan Denny Morgan Brock Morgan Health Nicholson and wife Traci Alicia Kessel and husband Bryan William Nicholson Kim & Kevin Freeman & Michelle Nelson Several Great Grandchildren Two Brothers; Roger Lewis and wife Juanita of Marion Carl (Tommy) Lewis and wife Barbara of Longview, TX She had so many specials friends Preceded by her Parents, Husband Virgil, Daughter Marlene Nicholson, Son Jimmy Morgan, Two Sisters Mary Lou Stokes, Carmen Boester, Three Brothers John Lewis, James Lewis and Donald Lewis. She will always be remembered for her cards and hugs that she shared. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Wagner officiating and the eulogy will be delivered by Charles Moore. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
