Rodney Dean Lewis

Rodney Dean Lewis, age 59, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at home in Marion.

Rodney was born September 26, 1964 in Rosiclare, Illinois, a son of Bobby and Barbara June "Bobbie" (Springer) Lewis.

Rodney Dean Lewis will be remembered by many as a hard-working family man. He was an avid outdoorsman; he was a tradesman in which he always excelled at. Rodney was proud to be a coal miner and a journeyman lineman by occupation. His passions for many years were training horses and practicing true stockmanship. His connection to nature was a God given blessing that did not go unnoticed. Rodney was an awesome man who touched many hearts and loved ones during his time with us. He was a Christian by faith and in his final days spent precious time talking to God. Rest in peace Rodney Lewis.

He is survived by his two children, Corey Dean (Holly) Lewis and Stevie Nichole (Taylor) Allred; four grandchildren, Karsyn Grace Lewis, Haedyn Faith Lewis, Kolt Taylor Allred, and Robert Kreid Allred; two brother-in-laws, Bob Jerrels and Fred Simmons; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins; and the mother of his children, Jeffie Elaine (Gunter) Lewis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara June "Bobbie" (Springer) and Bobby Dean Lewis and two sisters, Debra Faye Jerrels and Terry Lee Simmons.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 4th, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11:00 AM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with his cousin, Rev. Greg DeGrave officiating.
